Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our company’s database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, as well as planning for future database expansions. As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate with system administrators, developers, and business teams to ensure seamless data flow and efficient database operations.

The Work You’ll Do:

As a Database Administrator, you will:

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems, ensuring high availability and security.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize database efficiency.
• Perform regular backup and recovery operations to protect data integrity and prevent data loss.
• Manage database user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate security protocols are in place.
• Implement and maintain database replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Design and implement database schemas, indexes, and triggers to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with development and support teams to resolve database-related issues and optimize queries.
• Plan for database scaling and capacity planning, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated.

Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases.
• Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, identifying bottlenecks and improving response times.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Database Security: Ensure databases are secured against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
• Data Modeling: Design and maintain database models that support business processes and data requirements.
• Database Optimization: Create and modify queries, indexes, and schema structures for optimal database performance.

What You’ll Bring:

• 4+ years of experience in database administration or a similar role.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with database management systems (DBMS) like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and database scaling.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery and replication.
• Familiarity with database security best practices, including managing user roles and permissions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Experience in data modeling and schema design.

• Database Management: Strong expertise in managing relational and non-relational databases.
• SQL Expertise: Deep knowledge of SQL for query optimization and database management.
• Backup and Recovery: Experience in implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
